Dr. Álvarez is a bilingual, urban school leader who brings multicultural awareness, gender sensitivity, and ethical appreciation to her leadership. Dr. Álvarez holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She also holds two master's degrees, one in curriculum and instruction from UIC and another in instructional leadership from the American College of Education.
